HELP DESKS

Some of our groups run Help Desks for those of you who need extra help with your research or with the location of documents. They are very popular and well attended, so please ensure you arrive early. The volunteers who man them have many years experience between them of researching family history and are willing to share their knowledge with you.

We are not going to have enquirers coming into the Archives due to the Covid restrictions. Instead they will be ask to complete a form and return it to the Archive staff.  Our volunteers will then deal with them and return the details to the Archives staff who will send the results to the enquirers.

AS THE SERVICE IS VIRTUAL, ANYONE WITH A QUERY ABOUT THEIR FAMILY HISTORY WILL NEED TO  COMPLETE A FORM WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM THE RECEPTION DESK, OR BY EMAILING: archives@wigan.gov.uk or CALLING 01942 404430

Tuesday Weekly Liverpool

At the moment our Help Desk is working but in a different way. If you are at the library with a query, the staff will take your details and pass on the enquiry to the usual helpers but by email.

The Helpers will then work on it from a distance and reply directly to you, so you MUST have an email address for replies.

We hope this will help out until we can get back to more usual face to face meetings.

The help desk at Crosby Library is on the 1st and 3rd Friday mornings. It will be by booking only. Please contact Crosby Library by email, phone, or call in to book a slot.
